Tetris
A version of the classic falling block puzzle game that kickstarted a genre, all made in Turbowarp.
Who hasn't heard of Tetris? The game was originally created by a man named Alexey Pajitnov back in 1984. He was a computer scientist in the Soviet Union, working at the Moscow Academy of Sciences. After the game's creation, its addictive nature caused it to spread like wildfire, first across the academy, then across Russia, then all of eastern Europe, becoming the first computer game to come across the Iron Curtain from the Soviet Union. The rights to the game would be fought over for years to come, with many software companies wanting a slice of this tetrad-shaped pie. Even today, after the Soviet Union's collapse, Tetris's rights falling back into the hands of its creator, it's still beloved by millions around the world.
How To Play
The premise is simple. Maneuver falling bricks made up of four individual blocks each so that they create complete rows in the bottom of a rectangular well. Completed rows all flash and disappear, and the more you clear at once, the more points you earn. As you play, the game gets progressively faster and faster until it becomes overwhelming. When the stack reaches the top, and pieces can no longer flow into the well, the game is over.
Game Modes
Endless - Self Explanatory. Play for as long as you can, and don't reach the top.
Timed - A timer constantly ticks down. If it reaches zero, your game ends instantly. However, clearing lines will add back to the timer.
Lines - Clear a predetermined amount of lines as fast as you possibly can.
Controls
Left/Right - Move falling brick
Up/Z - Rotate Counter-Clockwise
X - Rotate Clockwise
Down - Drop
